Joe will start his 7th season as head coach for the 2022 Pecan Grove Piranhas. Coach Imrie has 25 years of coaching experience at a variety of levels, including summer leagues, junior high and high school (Terry HS-7 years). More recently, he has been doing private coaching and stroke instruction clinics, as well as working with his own boys.
Growing up, Coach Joe swam USS swimming and was a state champion in the 200 butterfly. He was also a state qualifier for Spring Woods High School. Following high school, he swam for Henderson State University and was a four year All-American, holding school and conference records.
Coach Joe and his wife Leann have two boys, Mason and Mitchell, who have been swimming with Pecan Grove for the last nine years. Coach Imrie said, “I'm excited about the opportunity to help our swimmers reach their potential and have fun at the same time.”
I am currently a Junior at Austin College University in Sherman, TX on a scholarship where I study pre-med and play NCAA DIII water polo as an attacker. The AC Roos won the CWPA Conference Championship last year (2021). As the only NCAA team in Texas, we are blazing the trail for future collegiate athletes to have the opportunity compete in the sport or Water Polo here in our great state. I graduated from Foster High School where I served as its varsity swim team captain and competed at the state level for three consecutive years. I also hold pool records here in LCISD. I also served as a captain for our varsity water polo team that won the state championship in 2019 where I was named the STATE MVP in women’s Water Polo. I also made All-State Team and All-American Team in Water Polo 2019. I swam for the Piranhas for 11 years, which is why the organization is near and dear to my heart. I'm excited at the opportunity to continue to pay my love for this sport forward as a coach (for the 4 th year) to a new generation of young athletes.
I have swam with the Piranhas for the last 14 years. I have also swam for First Colony Swim Team for about 3 years. I graduated from Foster High School where I swam on the varsity swim team for all 4 years and qualifying to regional each year. This is my 5th year coaching for the Piranhas and I'm excited to continue helping all the swimmers that join the team.
